Coastal Highway Adventure: Road Trip along NH75 from Mangaluru to Vellore!
In India, the National Highway-75 (NH75), formerly the National Highway-48, connects the cities of Mangaluru in the west with Vellore in the east. The highway runs across the three Indian states of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu for a distance of 862 kilometres (km).
After the rationalisation of highway numbers in 2010, the NH75 was renamed from the NH48, which it had been when it was first constructed. This roadway connects Karnataka’s three geographical regions—Karavali, Malenadu, and Bayaluseeme—together.
The NH75 begins in Bantwal, Karnataka, travels through a number of cities and towns, and then it ends at Vellore, Tamil Nadu. Hassan and Kunigal’s central business districts are avoided by the route, which shortens travel times and traffic jams. It also goes through Nellyadi, Shiradi Ghat, Sakleshpura, Hassan, Yediyur, Kunigal, Bangalore, Kolar, Mulbagal, Venkatagirikota, Pernambut, Gudiyattam, and Katpadi, among other significant cities and towns. The path through some of Karnataka’s most beautiful landscapes and offers breath-taking vistas of the Western Ghats.
Some stretches of the NH75 now have six lanes to reduce traffic congestion, and various flyovers and underpasses have been constructed to make driving easier. Along the route of the highway, there are a number of rest stops and food courts where motorists may unwind and refuel before continuing on their trip.
Travellers must pay tolls at specific toll plazas along the NH 75, which is a toll road. NH75 is open for commercial traffic, and many carriers and trucks utilise it to move cargo between states.
