Global Housing Technology Challenge

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone for Light House Projects (LHPs) across six states as part of the Global Housing Technology Challenge-India (GHTC-India).

What exactly are light-residential initiatives?

Indore (Madhya Pradesh), Rajkot (Gujarat), Chennai (Tamil Nadu), Ranchi (Jharkhand), Agartala (Tripura), and Lucknow are all constructing LHPs (Uttar Pradesh). They consist of around a thousand dwellings in each region, as well as related infrastructure.

In comparison to traditional brick and mortar construction, these programs will demonstrate and provide ready-to-stay houses in less than a year and maybe more cost-effective, sustainable, and of high quality and durability. Prefabricated Sandwich Panel System in LHP at Indore, Monolithic Concrete Construction with Tunnel Formwork, and other technologies are displayed in these LHPs.

The Global Housing Technology Challenge (GHTC) has the following key capabilities:

The assignment was launched in 2019 and is carried out under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban (PMAY-U).

The GHTC aims to accelerate the development of affordable housing and achieve its objective of creating 2 crore units by 2022.

Through ASHA (Affordable Sustainable Housing Accelerators) In India, GHTC specializes in identifying and mainstreaming verified provable technology for lighthouse projects, as well as recognizing the capacity of future technologies for incubation and acceleration guidance.
