Master Plan 2031 for Ghaziabad

GHAZIABAD: The Ghaziabad Development Authority’s board meeting is expected to adopt the Master Plan 2031 and the ropeway project.

The groundwork has been laid for the execution of Master Plan-2031, the draught of which is complete. On Saturday, it will be submitted before the board. “There are 21 topics on the docket,” remarked a GDA official. For the first time, a geographical information system (GIS) with satellite images has been used to create Master Plan 2031. Originally, this was done by hand. The acreage designated for industrial purposes in the 2031 plan has decreased from 5.5 percent in the 2021 plan to 5 percent in the 2031 plan.

Then under the heading, 8% of the area has been designated for logistics and warehousing. Because of its closeness to the national capital, the Delhi-Meerut Expressway, the Eastern Peripheral Expressway, and the Delhi-Howrah train line, Ghaziabad is a perfect location for expanding the city into a logistics center.

A further difference is that the property classified as residential is now, 42 percent, up from 41.5 percent in the 2021 plan.

The board of directors will also discuss the Rs 450-crore Vaishali-Mohan Nagar ropeway project. A private agency handed over its complete project study to the GDA in September of last year.
