Kanpur Metro project to be accelerated for Rs 747 crore!

The Yogi Adityanath administration has allocated Rs 747 crores for Kanpur Metro in the budget deficit, which was introduced in the legislature on Thursday. This funding commitment will hasten the completion of the Kanpur Metro. The Metro currently operates on a nine-kilometer elevated track between IIT and Motijheel.

The Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) already has determined that both lines would be fully functional by December 2023 or early 2024. (before the Lok Sabha elections). There would be seven subterranean Metro stations built.
The financial commitment for Kanpur Metro would expedite the present process of subterranean station development. The first corridor, which runs through IIT and Naubasta, is approximately 24 kilometers long and, when completed, will link Kanpur’s south and north metropolitan centers.
The second tunnel connecting CSA and Barra-8 will help improve communication between the city’s north and south sides. The length of this passageway is around eight kilometers.
