In Pune villages, 19,309 property cards were provided.

The Maharashtra Land Records Department has begun issuing property cards to communities in the Pune area. Drones were used to survey around 19,309 homes in Baramati, Daunch, Haveli, Indapur, Mulshi, and Purandar, who now have property cards as evidence of ownership for the first time.

The Maharashtra Land Records Department has earned Rs 1 crore and 28 lakh from this service. As per Punekar news, the number of property tracts granted in each taluka is as follows: 2500 in Baramati, 2227 in Daund, 1727 in Haveli, 2431 in Indapur, 5031 in Mulshi, and 5393 in Purandar.

The land surveying effort in these Pune villages began due to the lack of property records in rural regions. Many development initiatives are being executed as a consequence of rapid, and these communities have experienced topographical alterations. To facilitate lawful land transfers, the area of the property is required, which was missing. To solve this, the Maharashtra Land Records Department collaborated with Survey of India to conduct a land survey utilising drones.

This activity will also assist gramme panchayats in becoming self-sufficient monetarily. Even though property tax is an important source of revenue for Gram Panchayats, there has been no rise in property tax due to increased urbanisation. This happens because the tax for Gram Panchayat properties was unable to be computed. The property tax may be determined using these property cards.

The owners gain greatly from these property cards. The legal owners will have documentation of property with the distribution of property cards. Conflicts over succession and inheritance are readily resolved. “Loans and mortgages will be available on these properties.” Village boundary problems will be resolved, which will aid in the village’s projected growth. Additionally, Gram Panchayats will find it easier to collect local taxes. Citizens’ credit will improve as a result of the ownership method of issuing property certificates. Citizens have obtained legal ownership documentation,” stated Anand Raite, Additional Jamabandi Commissioner.
