India’s Longest Sea Bridge ‘Mumbai Trans Harbour Link’ To Be Completed By 2023 End
According to a statement made on Wednesday by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), 76% of the work on the Mumbai Trans-Harbour Link (MTHL) project has already been finished. The project is expected to be completed by the end of September 2023. Mumbai and Navi Mumbai may be connected via the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link, also known as the Sewri Nhava Sheva Trans Harbour Link. When completed, it may be India’s longest sea bridge and have a capacity for 70,000 vehicles per day.
The 21.80 km, a six-lane project is supported by the Japan International Cooperation Agency and is being implemented by the MMRDA, a Maharashtra government agency (JICA).
The Mumbai Trans-Harbour Link (MTHL) project is currently in its third phase of development, according to the MMRDA. Out of the six interchanges on the MTHL at Sewri, the C-2’s ramp has been finished up to sub base, and work on the four kilometers of spreading up to the deck slab of the original bridge from this entry avenue has also been completed, it was reported. Since the four km spread of the C-2 access road for the original bridge has been painted, the contractor will be able to send construction materials to the original bridgework from the access road, which will speed up project completion.
