DDA land pooling policy: Application window extended for three months

According to recent reports, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has opened a 90-day opportunity for additional individuals to apply under its land pooling scheme. Previously, the DDA’s site for participating in the 104-village land pooling strategy was accessible until December 24, 2021. This new 90-day window was created last month and is supposed to allow the authority to form a partnership for three policy sectors.

Under the land pooling strategy, which was announced in September 2018, the DDA has bought 7,275 hectares of property. The DDA had issued a notice under this policy to form an organisation for three main sectors spanning two zones.

The policy of land pooling is influenced by Public Partnership (PPP). Its goal is to expand economic possibilities and housing supply in a fast and efficient manner. On the pooled property, the policy’s agencies build infrastructures like highways, universities, clinics, and recreation centers. They then restore a section of the property to farmers while completing housing developments on the rest with the assistance of private builders.

The DDA’s development is planned for around 20,000 hectares of land to suit the city’s rising demands, as well as the building of 20 lakh additional residences. It is now applicable in Delhi’s urban expansion regions, which include many villages in zones J, K-I, L, N, and P-II.
