Driving Forward: Delhi to Witness Development with New 6-Lane Highway

The transfer of 1.11 acres (4,509 square metres) of land to the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) for the construction of Delhi’s new six-lane highway has been approved by lieutenant-governor VK Saxena. This unfinished highway, which is a part of the Bharatmala Pariyojna, will connect a junction along the Jaitpur-Pusta Road section of the NH-148NA with the DND Maharani Bagh. It is a section of a linkage project connecting the DelhiMumbai Motorway to the Delhi-Noida Direct (DND) Flyway.

In order to improve traffic conditions for individuals who commute between Delhi, Noida, and Faridabad, a nine-kilometer access-controlled roadway has been constructed. The department responsible for irrigation and flood control transferred the land. The transfer of this property piece had been sought by the NHAI in January of this year. According to media sources, the L-G’s consent was granted with the stipulation that the NHAI will utilise the inert and construction and demolition (C&D) debris produced in Delhi at the site of its construction and elsewhere, in addition to providing the appropriate payment for the land.

A power sub-station will be built in Nawada village in Uttam Nagar thanks to a transfer of 4,235 sqm of Irrigation and Flood Control Department property sanctioned by the L-G. This land parcel’s transfer request had been on hold since 2016.
