Everything you need to know about Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board

The Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB), which functions under the control of the Delhi government, was established in July 2010 to improve the quality of life and provide better municipal facilities within the slum areas of the nation’s capital.

The Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB) Act of 2010 gives the board the authority to classify some areas as slums based on the availability of civic services. This page contains everything you need to know about DUSIB and its activities. Under the Slum Improvement and Clearance Areas Act of 1956, the DUSIB has the authority to declare any area a slum. Homes and/or locations that can be considered unfit for human occupancy are designated as slum regions under Section three of the Act.

These are classified as prison systems and are therefore eligible for benefits under the Act. Squatters in jhuggi jhopri (JJ) Cluster settlements, on the other hand, are considered encroachments on public or private lands, and hence visible as illegal. No clean encroachment of public land is permitted under the new criteria. Without giving alternatives, past encroachments in life before January 31, 1990, cannot be erased.
