Route of Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg

The Mumbai-Nagpur highway will connect JNPT in Mumbai with Mihan in Nagpur.

The feeder network would connect 14 adjacent districts to the motorway, including over 20 new towns (Krushi Samruddhi Kendra), equipped with all contemporary utilities, agro-based industries, and commercial centres.

The 701 km long Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg would run through 10 important districts, including Nagpur, Wardha, Amravati, Washim, Buldana, Jalna, Aurangabad, Nasik, Ahmednagar and Thane.

The highway would also interconnect significant tourist attractions and cities along the Nagpur-Mumbai Expressway route. This covers districts like as Chandrapur, Bhandara, Gondia, Gadchiroli, Yavatmal, Akola, Hingoli, Parbhani, Nanded, Beed, Dhule, Jalgaon, Palghar and Raigad.

This road would also connect Shirdi (5 km), Bibi ka Maqbara (5 km), Sula Vineyards (8 km), Trimbakeshwar Shiv Temple (14 km), Tansa Wildlife Sanctuary (60 km), Pench National Park (95 km), and Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve (124 km).

Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg: Present position

The first section of the Mumbai-Nagpur Samruddhi Mahamarg has been finished and was opened on December 11, 2022. The phase, which was scheduled to open on May 2, 2022, was delayed because a section of a wildlife overpass on the line was broken. This overpass is located in Waiphal, 37 kilometres from Nagpur, and is intended to enable animal migration. According to media sources, the last section of the Samruddhi Expressway between Shirdi and Mumbai might be completed by mid-2023.
