Faster, Smoother Journeys: Delhi Airport Express Line Trains Now Reach 110 kmph!
The Delhi Airport Express Line trains’ speed has been increased to 110 kmph. The DMRC received the mandatory approval from the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) on June 13, 2023, to increase the speed of the trains on the Airport Express Line. The speed of the trains was increased from 100 kmph to 110 kmph on June 15, 2023.
The increase in speed will reduce the travel time between New Delhi and Dwarka Sec-21 from 21 minutes to 19 minutes, and between New Delhi and IGI Airport Terminal 3 from 16 minutes to 15 minutes.
The DMRC has also plans to increase the speed of the trains on the Airport Express Line to 120 kmph in the future. However, this will require further approvals from the CMRS.
The increase in speed of the trains on the Airport Express Line is a welcome move for passengers. It will make it easier for passengers to travel to and from the airport, and will also help to reduce traffic congestion in the city.
