Gurugram is set to gain a 1,000-acre Global City shortly
CHANDIGARH: Haryana’s commercial capital Gurugram is set to gain a 1,000-acre Global City modelled after Dubai’s Business Bay. A posh housing complex, hotels, commercial, and service sector amenities would be part of the stylish urban center.
The Haryana State Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) will build the Global City, and the procurement procedure for the construction will begin in the following 30 days.
In a 25-acre area, a heliport will also be built. So authorities would never have to buy property because HSIIDC already owns 1,000 acres that Reliance Industries returned when their plan was cancelled.
On Thursday, deputy chief minister Dushyant Chautala, who is also the industries and commerce minister, attended a meeting with HSIIDC officials to discuss the plan. This project will start in the very first quarter of 2022, according to the deputy chief minister.
“There would be several stages to the project. First, HSIIDC would build the infrastructure, after which the first part of the auction would take place. It would be completely modelled after Dubai’s Business Bay. Garhi Harsaru and neighbouring villages all along Dwarka Expressway are the focus of the project. Given its strategic position, the projected Global City would not only be a distinctive commercial hub for the region, and also for the entire country,” he said.
This proposal also included massive towers because the maximum FAR allowed for this hub is 3.5. The planned building would consist of four towers, each of which will be roughly 60-70 stories tall. The plan will include residential, industrial, and service sector structures in addition to the industries. This would be designed in such a manner that all of the fundamental necessities will be available underground.
Dushyant also revealed that HSIIDC owns a 208-acre plot of land in Manesar upon which ministry plans to build an amusement park, and also that expressions of intent from worldwide firms will be sought for its construction. He said that the HSIIDC’s economic position has gotten better, so the company’s goal today is to become profitable.
