Here’s what you need to know about the Ambala Kotputli Expressway

Nitin Gadkari, the union minister for Road Transport and Highways, remarked that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, street infrastructure is evolving quicker, more securely, and more sustainably than ever before.

The Ambala Kotputli Expressway is a proposed greenfield project that will connect Ambala, Haryana, with Kotputli, Rajasthan. With a total length of 313 kilometers, the six-lane, access-managed Ambala Kotputli Highway is expected to have a significant impact on the region’s economic activities. Nitin Gadkari, the union minister for Road Transport and Highways, announced that the dual road is planned to open in March 2022 and that 80 percent of the hall has been constructed. He declared that the hall had been transformed.

This toll road is part of a monetary hall and maybe access-managed. It’s part of the roads ministry’s ambitious plan to build 22 greenfield expressways for a total cost of Rs 3.10 lakh crore. It’s worth mentioning that Haryana is working on four major corridors, as well as brownfield projects like Jind-Gohana-Sonipat and UP/Haryana Border-Rohna-Jhajjar. Ambala-Kotputli and Gurugram Rewari-Narnaul-Rajasthan Border are two greenfield ventures.

The new toll road between Kotputli and Ambala might also help improve logistical and financial activities in the region. Road infrastructure is critical for India’s economic growth since the street network is responsible for 70% of the country’s products and about 90% of its passenger traffic. Within the three states, the Ambala Kotputli financial hall will provide direct access to business products and passenger visits. The authorities’ greenfield limited-access highway projects were planned with the goal of decongesting major cities. Because it will offer an alternative route, bypassing Delhi, the limited-access highway might potentially reduce the distance and travel time between Ambala and Jaipur.

The Ambala Kotputli Hall may contain environmentally friendly features such as water harvesting places every 500 meters. On either side of the hall, some 1.5 lakh shrubs might be planted. In addition, the Kotputli to Ambala route could be equipped with world-class passenger amenities such as food courts and refueling stations. A major issue mentioned at the meeting was the need for high-quality forest clearances for toll roads and other infrastructure projects. Concerned officials have been ordered to speed the procedure for the equal as soon as possible. Land/ROW laws of railways and MoRTH, as well as presenting comprehensive recommendations for environmental and forest clearing, have been discussed extensively.
