India’s First Urban Elevated Road is the Dwarka Expressway in New Gurgaon.
NH 248-BB, or the Northern Peripheral Road, is another name for the 29-kilometre Dwarka Expressway. It is a high-speed, access-controlled highway under construction that connects Delhi with Gurgaon (Gurugram). This is the country’s first elevated urban motorway, according to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH). Its construction is expected to cost Rs 9,000 crore.
The Dwarka Expressway, which will open in 2023, will relieve traffic congestion on the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway and other arterial highways. Around 50 to 60% of NH-8 traffic will be shifted onto the new roadway, increasing pedestrian traffic near Sohna Road and Golf Course Road. Nitin Gadkari, India’s Minister of Road Transport and Highways, has stated that the new highway will help to reduce air pollution in the Delhi-NCR region.
Concerning the Dwarka Expressway
After NH-8 and Mehrauli-Gurgaon Road, the Dwarka Expressway is the third direct connecting road between Delhi and Gurgaon. The motorway would be a 16-lane availability motorway that connects Shiv Murti in Delhi with Kherki Daula in Gurugram. The highway would be 18.9 kilometres long in Gurugram and 10.1 kilometres long in Delhi.
Including an 8-lane grade-separated roadway, three-lane service roads, several crossroad pedestrian overpasses at critical crossroads sites, and multi-level interchanges, the motorway will be a stunning example of contemporary engineering excellence.
The Dwarka Expressway New Gurgaon would also give immediate access to the future India International Convention Centre (IICC) in Dwarka’s Sector 25. It will also offer an alternate route to IGI Airport through an eight-lane shallow tunnel. The expressway’s prime position guarantees excellent access to the train station, Bijwasan, NH-8, and the Southern Peripheral Road (SPR).

The 29 km (16-lane) portion of NH-8 is a signal-free highway with four multi-level interchanges. The engineering wonder has three-lane service lanes on both sides of the highway, four multi-level correspondences, and several intersection viaducts at significant intersections.
The following are the results of a survey conducted by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) on the state of the art in the field of forensic science. This will begin in Dwarka and extend to Manesar and Neemrana through a metro hub being constructed on a 162-acre plot at Kherki Daula near the new Inter State Bus Terminal.
At Vatika INXT2, a specialized turning down will be developed, connecting NH 352W to Dwarka Expressway (NH 248BB).
