Locality Overview of Ring Road in Pune

The Pune Ring Road is a road that is intended to be built mostly around Pune, India. According to the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA), the route would reduce traffic congestion and provide access to the city’s fastest-growing districts.

The route will be 128 kilometers long and link all of the city’s roadways, serving twenty-nine communities. The cost is expected to be US$1.4 billion at 104.08 billion.

Apart from that the planned Ring Road, according to the state’s urban development minister, will help reduce pollution by around 25% and improve socio-economic growth in the region. In addition, he stated that the project will boost Pune’s road connection. He emphasized that cars traveling to locations such as Saswad, Nashik, Ahmednagar, Konkan, and Mumbai traverse thru the city, generating traffic congestion as well as pollution of the air and noise. The Ring Road would save travel time and distance greatly.

Letus have a look at how Ring Road is beneficial for Pune and the surrounding locality

Connectivity

The 173-kilometer round path of the road is projected to improve not only the city’s bad commute circumstances but also provide investment opportunities in 29 real estate areas along the Ring Road’s authorized alignment. Once the road is up, these micro-markets will likely become housing centers with convenient access to the rest of the city. This may also help to lower property prices in popular areas like Kalyani Nagar, Koregaon Park, Viman Nagar, Magarpatta, and others.

Impact on Real Estate

The Pune Ring Road will run through some of the city’s fastest-growing suburbs. Pimpri-Chinchwad, Pirangut, Sivapur, Lonikand, and others are among them. Pimpri and Pirangut, for example, already have some of the largest township developments, drawing both house buyers and investors. While the infrastructure and services are not yet up to par, once the population arrives, the situation is likely to improve. Pune’s real estate industry can only hope for brighter days ahead with such a bankable project on hold.

Impact on Pollution

Pune has suffered from significant pollution as a result of fast urbanization and the accompanying rise of the industrial sector. Because of pollution from automobiles and factories, this is the case. The development of the Pune Ring Road is projected to alleviate pollution in some regions of the city by reducing the number of cars in such locations. The Pune Ring Road would be able to lessen overall air and noise pollution in the city by constructing multiple underpasses and bridges.
