MCG takes over Greenwood City in Gurgaon
Greenwood City, a six-block residential community in Sector 45 Gurgaon, has officially been taken over by the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG). Residents will profit from this change since they will now have direct access to essential utilities from the Municipal Authority.
The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) formally took over the upkeep of Greenwood City in Sector 45, Gurgaon, on August 29th. Greenwood City was one of nine colonies identified by the Department of Town and Country Planning for acquisition by the Gurgaon civic body three months ago. Documentations for the next eight colonies, except for Mayfield Gardens, have already been finished. Rosewood City, Sushant Lok 2 and 3, Vipul World, and Malibu Towne are among them.
What will MCG be responsible for in Greenwood City?
MCG will now build municipal infrastructure in the colony such as sewage systems, fresh water, roadways, lamps, and recreational areas. According to the department, the anticipated cost for infrastructure development is Rs 14.3 Cr. MCG will be reimbursed for this expense by the Department of Town and Country Planning (DTCP).
The local government has directed the developer to help with general operation and transition for 15 days beginning September 1st. To avoid any difficulty for residents throughout the transitional stage, the regular checking agency will remain in operation for the specified duration.
What are the issues that Greenwood City citizens face?
Greenwood City’s six blocks each have their own set of difficulties. Whereas the majority of them are concerned about pavement performance, some are also concerned about water scarcity. Streetlights are also out on a few blocks. Residents are optimistic about the colony’s care now that the MCG is in charge.
Mayfield Garden is the final colony to be taken up by the MCG. The handover of Mayfield Garden is now scheduled for the first week of September, as the builder has requested some time from the MCG.
