NAREDCO encourage builders to install isolation facilities for construction workers
National Real Estate Development Council, a self-regulatory body under MOHUA (Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs), recently encouraged builders to install isolation facilities after seeing the rapid increase in the deadly COVID-19.
Current situation of construction/project sites
- Over 25% of migrant workers have migrated towards their hometown.
- In these cities, as of now, over lakhs of people are working at some 250 under-construction project sites.
- Over 2 lakh units are under construction in Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway.
NAREDCO initiatives to help the workers in this COVID-19 outbreak
- To help COVID affected workers, the real estate developers have been asked to create proper isolation facilities within their construction sites.
The isolation facilities will include
- Basic medical amenities
- Beds
- Wheelchairs
- Oximeters and Sanitizer’s
As per RK Arora, president of NAREDCO-UP, the main goal is to help covid affected workers with essential resources before they shifted to nearby hospitals. NAREDCO is also directed by Noida, Yamuna Expressway and Greater Noida authorities to provide all essential benefits to COVID affected workers.
