News: By 2028, Maharashtra Will Have A Ring Routed Expressway Highway Network.
According to a ToI assessment, Maharashtra may be the first state in India to have a ring routed expressway highway network with continuous road connection on all sides by 2028.
The Maharashtra state government has asked experts to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the building of two Greenfield expressway routes for Rs 8,000 crore. The first is the Pune-Nashik industrial highway, which would connect ancient and new industrial zones as well as townships. The Nagpur Goa Shaktipeeth expressway, which would connect significant religious places like as Mahur, Ambajogai, Aundha Nagnath, Parali, Tuljapur, Pandharpur, Narsobachi Wadi, and Kolhapur, is the second. It will also provide as a link between the Vidarbha forests, the Sahyadri topography, and the Konkan beaches.
With expressways connecting Kolhapur, Pune, Mumbai, and Nashik, the two Greenfield roads will complete a ring routed expressway, offering wireless integration. Following receipt of the DPR from the consultants, the next stage will be land purchase. Greenfield roadways are planned to be finished in five years.
