News: The Newly Proposed Green Highway Connects Mumbai And Bangalore In 5 Hours.
The Central Government intends to build a green highway between Mumbai and Bangalore, which will significantly cut travel time between the two cities, according to Nitin Gadkari, Union Road Transport and Highways Minister.
While it presently takes close to 17 hours to cross the roughly 981 km distance between the two cities, the green highway will decrease travel time to five hours. The journey time between Pune and Bangalore would be reduced to 3.5 to 4 hours with this expressway, which will be linked to the Mumbai-Pune expressway.
Gadkari stated that India would have 26 new green expressways built in the next three years that will be world-class and will minimise travel time between two locations. One of these is the Chennai Bengaluru expressway, which would allow commuters to travel between the cities in two hours instead of three.
