Telangana stands at number 4 in total projects registered with RERA
Telangana is among the top four states in India in terms of the total number of projects registered with the state-level Real Estate Regulatory Authority (T-RERA).
The latest data obtained by TOI from all over India shows that Telangana had 4,002 real estate projects registered with T-RERA by February 2022 and 2,017 registered agents.
Two days ago, chief secretary Somesh Kumar warned errant builders. During a meeting on Friday with representatives of Credai, Tredai, Telangana Builders Association, and other organizations, Kumar warned that criminal cases would be filed as per RERA against persons and developers indulging in undivided pre-launch sales.
On another note, Maharashtra with 33,154 has the most registered projects and 11,231 registered agents, followed by Gujarat in second place with 9,689 projects and 2,695 agents, and Madhya Pradesh with 4,016 projects and 935 agents.
The neighboring state of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh has 2,248 projects registered and 151 agents. Along with these, there are 10 states where more than 1,000 projects have been registered, including UP, Tamil Nadu, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Punjab, Rajasthan, & Karnataka.
Puducherry had the most registrations at 194 among Union territories, while Delhi had merely 34 registered projects. As of February this year, 74,088 projects were registered with local authorities in India, including states and UTs. 58,790 registered agents are working on projects across the country.
Telangana and Uttarakhand with 332 registered projects are two states that lack permanent authority and still rely on an interim authority. West Bengal is the only state yet to establish the authority, while Punjab has one in Panchkula and Haryana has theirs at Gurugram.
