The Locality Overview of Paschim Vihar, Delhi

Paschim Vihar is a residential neighborhood in Delhi, India, that is part of the West Delhi subzone of Punjabi Bagh.

It is a typical Delhi suburb that grew rapidly in the 1980s, and it is densely packed with apartment complexes that serve as group housing societies, built both privately and by the Delhi Development Authority. Paschim Vihar is split in two by the Outer Ring Road. The settlement of this region began in the late 1970s and early 1980s, making it a relatively old and green area. The DDA ‘mostly’ developed the east side, where A, B, and C-blocks were built and plots together with flats in Group Housings were granted. The west side is mostly developed privately. On both sides, the DDA allocated large sections of property (between 7 and 70 acres) to private groups. These societies subsequently built roads (within their respective territory) and other necessary utilities on their own, as well as assigning plots to members.
