The State Government Has Approved A Metro Expansion Route Linking Palam Vihar.

In a conference headed by the State’s CM, the Haryana government authorised the final DPR of the Metro rail project between Palam Vihar, Gurgaon, and Sector 21, Dwarka. With seven stations spaced throughout the 8.4-kilometre length, the project intends to reduce traffic on the highways. The Haryana Cabinet has authorised the final Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the Metro rail connection project connecting Rezangla Chowk, Palam Vihar, Gurgaon, and Sector 21, Dwarka. Manohar Lal Khattar, the Chief Minister of Haryana, presided over the conference, which aimed to strengthen communication between these two places. The CM also cleared the whole project cost, including the State government’s contribution of more than Rs 1,500 crore.

A Breakdown of the Palam Vihar-Dwarka Sector 21 MRTS

According to the DPR, the expansion line between Rezangla Chowk in Gurgaon and Sector 21, Dwarka would be 8.4 kilometres long. The four-kilometer section would connect Palam Vihar and Sector 111, Gurgaon, while the remaining 4.4 kilometres will connect Sector 111, Gurgaon and Sector 21, Dwarka. This route will be served by a total of seven stations.

Potential advantages of the Palam Vihar-Dwarka Sector 21 MRTS

The Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS) project intends to improve connection between Gurgaon and Delhi. Interchanges will be available on the Gurgaon Metro corridor at Palam Vihar station, the Airport Express Metro corridor at IECC station, and the Blue Line of the Delhi Metro at Dwarka Sector 21 station. 

Furthermore, the new system aims to cut the number of buses, private automobiles, and other public transportation vehicles on the roadways, greatly lowering noise and air pollution

Furthermore, the MRTS will include an intersection with the Dwarka Expressway at Sector 110-A, increasing the efficiency of the National Capital Region’s transportation system (NCR). Passengers travelling to Delhi Airport will also be able to check in at Dwarka Sector 21.
